Not being an expert but i had an image of being in the top of a tree and as usual about to pull my 020 out of a branch that was about to let go. when all of a sudden i notice my cant hook did hook and
me and the saw are Too close when that branch drops and unfortunately im not wearing a tear away lanyard

Pardon me, but I thought the most common kickbacks happened to inexperienced saw users with the tip of the bar?

Will bolting on a bent pitchfork tine force a saw user to cut nearer the powerhead?

The worst kickback I ever experienced was while limbing an ancient burr oak...I was tired and hot, and wasn't watching. Saw rears back, pivoting on my elbow joints, sails over my shoulder, hooking my ear and a little scalp, whereupon I lose it, dropping the saw behind me...and cutting a 3" kerf in my left cheek.

No, the other left cheek.

G'day Guys,

Kickback can be nasty. This is what can happen. This guy was ok but how close was he to becoming a statistic???.......
If it sends a shiver up your spine, that can only be a good thing!
Cheers
Charlie.
