Whew! You had me worried Otto, I went right down to my truck to check the tag on the saw, Iv'e been using it for 6 months but couldn't remember the tag for certain.
The decal and metal tag say 372XP so it must be us canucks getting the short end again with the lowrise top cover while you guys get the big hood scoop.
I'll admit even the Husky photos look different then my saw.

lol:D must be... how very strange that they are different. i checked the sites too and they sure do have different covers on from time to time - i wonder why this would be? different air filter???

I think the Canadian saws are mostly seconds from the factory they put them together with odd parts to complete a saw for the Canadian market.
This is because they sell more saws in one U.S. state then in all of Canada.
Besides they know we will be trading in an old Sharps rolling block rifle in our guns for saws program and their return is lower.:D

Keener, Its ok, we have already let the cat out of the bag, These Americans here on the Arborstsite have already been let in on our secrets...they understand that the saws sold in Canada have bigger cranks,..(.009 larger) ...stronger big end bearings(made in Romania, as opposed to FAG brgs)....and the timing on the canadian saws has not been retarded the 8 degrees that our neighbors saws have.....Unfortuanatley Keener...we already told them as well...the fact that we do recieve 6 saws per person under the NLAP, they know more saws are sold here....and another little know fact is that if you buy a saw from Australia, France, or Siberia...they go even another step further....they are indestructible!!

Hi There, I also heard that new models of saws are throughly tested in the States before they become available to Canada in order to work out bugs and flaws etc., so it is best to wait for the 2nd run of saw to ensure that you get a good one. The serial # should indicate if it was a second or first edition.
On the Huskvarna's and Stihls there is lettering just under the clutch pack on the casing, saying CDN, which indicates the saws that are destined for Canada only.

If you guys already told them that how am I supposed to get my 6 saws a year if they get bought up and sent down south?
Next the government will make it 5 a year then 4 etc.
The guys from the U.S. have big buying power with their dollar being so strong, we need all the help we can get.

Thanks for that Wolf River I don't have a problem with the real saw users getting some of our saws, I just don't think every Tom ,****, and Harry Homeowner needs the Canadian versions.
Whats the point having a super saw and not having a clue about proper chain sharpening, gas mixing, carb adjusting, bar grinding etc, etc.
Even a sears special with all these done right cuts better than something rocked out, tuned out, burned out.
Bottom line DON'T LEND OUT YOUR SAW! and keep the super saws to those that can use them right.

Tom. **** an Harry

Just my opinion Keenar, Homeowner's ain't going to by Pro Saws.
When they do they will be sold. Don't sweat big guy. Keep Fallin' -Mike

some downloads

iI can't download a jpg file at work, really pisses me off . was going to put together some downloads on a floppy to take to work to some chain saw enthusiasts. Lot's of good pic's. Especially saws. Keener, that's the proudest stem , I,ve seen, outside the old film. That pic will be on there along with many others.

Does that mean I'm famous:D or infamous? That pic was taken by the guy I was working for, he had a digital camera and snapped it. He then E-mailed it to me which is why it's on my PC.
I should get a digital camera I guess, I could use it for advertising photos and write it off.
:)
