Somehow I read "Flux Capacitor" to start with and thought you were pulling a swifty Then I read it again and realised I'd misread it and you weren't cracking funnies Good info regardless of whether that's the case here or not

Seen in some magnetic materials, saturation is the state reached when an increase in applied external magnetizing field H cannot increase the magnetization of the material further, so the total magnetic field B levels off. It is a characteristic particularly of ferromagnetic materials, such as iron, nickel, cobalt and their alloys.

I may be that the unlimited coil is running at a frequency that is too fast for the magnetic flux to saturate the silicon steel laminations in the coil.
If this is true then when then magnetic field collapses the induced back emf will smaller and the amount of millijoules of energy in the spark will be reduced.
A lower millijoule spark cannot light the fuel mix as easily or as quickly and results in a retarded firing or a failure to ignite.

This is hypothetical, but based on real world electrical engineering theory, Testing can and would be able to prove it.

My gut feeling is not likely in this case

I understand perfectly Unfortunately when I speed read things and skip words "Flux Capacitor" jumped into my head first. Incorrectly but it was funny when I realised how I'd first interpreted it!
Nerdyness is very interesting unless you ARE actually a nerd

Me thinks the nerd needs to help us reverse engineer the OEM coil. Is there a way to make your OEM coil into a unlimited coil without all the cutting and splicing? I'd rather not cut up 2 coils to make 1 coil unlimited. Is there a way to do this? We've been looking for an EE to help us out and explain this for us...

The only way to do that is reverse engineer it. It'lll have to be shaved down to get to the inside to see what is what. Then you'll need an alpha geek to interpete that and see what can be done. I imagine if you could fine someone who reverses chips and so on they would do it for a price, and that would be spendy. This would be spendy wayyy beyond what top saw wrenches get type loot.

So if there was enough interest in the dolmar crowd, they would have to chip in to get the work done.

You might could find such a nerd on slashdot. I know I don't know enough to do the work, just what it would entail.
