Durn it TZ, not the best example you showed there.... it says "abandon 18°heure " which means it had to abandon the race (probably 24 h race) for distribution problems after 18 hours. I see Manual grinnin already...

Heck, Porsche is a great running air cooled engine anyway, lots of accelaration...:hmm3grin2orange: :hmm3grin2orange:

great car. I see the 914 is a smash hit. Hmmmmmm

Thats Ok, I just picked the fastest one. That car sat on pole for the 24 hours of le Mans in 1970. Here is a pic of the car that won that weekend. Also a Porsche, also aircooled, but a little slower, only 235mph down the Mulsanne:ices_rofl:

The 24 hours of le Mans requires Speed and reliability, the same thing that Stihl engineers into its saws...

Heck... I would drive a 1971 Vega GT Wagon before I would drive one of those.

Or one of my trucks...

Frig those over priced rich boy POS's...

Gary

All I own is trucks and all 4x4's. I'm not into cars. But if that car was to pull in My driveway. I would first pick myself up and then would have to test it out.
I wonder how much wood it can haul ? and where to put the chainsaws.

I'll tell you what. that is one sweet looking car.
I'll bet Thall would even agree with that.

Yup yup, that thing is sleek indeed. Hell I don't care where its made I'd take it for a spin, wedoggie!!!!!

.... and the fastest car in the world....

"Bugatti EB 16.4 Veyron 253mph+, 0-62mph 2.5 secs

Officially the fastest car in the world. Ever. In a straight line the Bugatti Veyron simply owns the opposition. Electronically limited to 253mph, the Veyron’s top-end superiority is underlined by simply staggering acceleration. Remember the 243mph McLaren F1? Even given a 100mph head start, the Veyron would still beat one to the double ton. More fun stats include emptying the 100-litre fuel tank in 11 minutes at maximum velocity – a situation engineers have described as a ‘safety feature’. Travel that fast for a whole half hour and even the special high-speed tyres would apparently start to melt.
With four turbochargers, the 8.0-litre W16 engine makes a minimum 1000bhp, so it’s no surprise to discover the car contains 17 different cooling devices. Four-wheel drive and sophisticated aerodynamics mean the Veyron isn’t just a hyper-performance dragster, either, cornering incredibly for something weighing 1888kg. A super-fast shifting seven-speed DSG gearbox and mega price-tag completes this ultimate high-speed package."

Sounds like a handy little wagon to go shopping with or pick up the kids from school....

Ooh yes, the Bugatti :buttkick: shame on me :jester:

From Wikipedia;

1987 Ferrari F40 323 km/h (201 mph) First production car to break 200mph barrier.

1987 RUF CTR (modified Porsche 930) 340 km/h (211 mph)

1994 McLaren F1 372 km/h (231 mph) at factory rev limit. Holder of the official production car speed record for 11 years until the Koenigsegg CCR broke it in 2005.

March 31, 1998 McLaren F1 386.4 km/h (240.1 mph) with factory rev limiter removed. This was achieved in Germany on the Volkswagen proving ground by Andy Wallace. Other than the removal of the rev limiter, the car was completely standard.

February 28, 2005 Koenigsegg CCR 387.87 km/h (241.01 mph)

October, 2005 Bugatti Veyron 407.5 km/h (253.2 mph)
