I know where there is a mac mini in its original case I could get cheap, how do they run, are they worth fixing or were they a throw away saw ?

When they run they are a great little saw. To me its just a little awkward to handle, but you can get use to it. Repair wise they can be a challenge. Carburetor problems are a night mare,if I remember correctly, all the Mini Macs back then required removing the engine to get to the carburetor. When one came in with a carb problem,I tended to completely rebuild the carb. I may have been slower then some, but I think I invested at least 45 minutes to an hour just getting to the carb. Then you had to rebuild the carb and 45 minutes to an hour to put it back together. Can you imagine charging someone 2 hours or more to work on the carb. Almost every other saw at that time you could remove the carb in around 5 minutes. But I did not work on Macs that much,ma-be if I had done more I could have cut the time down.Others that worked on Macs might weigh in and and hopefully have a better way of working on them, that cut the time.

More cc and more weight - LOL!

The T425 is 25.4cc and 3.0kg.

Year of cause - but I just have at tendency not to count tophandle and backhandle saws in the same category. But that is just because I never uses tophandlesaws.
