Anybody ever use either of these? i was looking in the wespur catalog today and was checkin em out, they say the can "replace" the climbers friction hitch totally, i was just wondering if at 450 (uni) and 300 for the lockjack if anyone ever spent it to try? and if you or someone u know did how did it work out for you?

i dont think ill ever get one but im just interested

I use a Spiderjack on the regular. They self tend slack like nothing else and allow very smooth, controlled, or fast descents. There place is for vertical work.

A hitch is more versatile in that it does the "horizontal" climbing like limbwalking because it wont allow the slack to fall through on you. I currently use an Icicle hitch on another climbing system for this.

It's like anything, you can do it with one, but if you have both you will use both for specific tasks.

I'm interested too, especially in the unicender. I doubt I'll ever buy one, but I'd sure like to use someone else's someday and figure out why it would be worth $450. Seems for the price you should be able to press a button on the thing and you'd go up the tree without any work.

I did just start playing around with a grigri on an SRT climb. That was amazing. I was 70' up in no time and didn't feel like I worked that hard. I definitely recommend it for any long ascents.
