I just got this Stihl BLK 58, 105cc,
I have been wanting one. Has good compression and spark.
It needed a new fuel line and filter. Took the top of the tank off and cleaned
out the crud in there,Also cleaned the carb and installed a new kit.
So it should run now.

Cool looking saw. If the motor gives out on you all is not lost as it looks like you could mount an old MAC 4 cylinder drone engine on it. Ron

Thought I'd throw this in here for those who haven't seen it. First cut on the 791R. McCulloch 790 with a D-44 rear handle, MC-49 reeds slapping a big as I could make it plate, 48890b carb, and a little old 99cc MC-91 kart motor. Tuning isn't quite right yet, just need more time with her.

Still laughing at the fist of air start (185psi, no decomp) :msp_biggrin:.

It's official,

all out of shelf space for my saws. So with the weather coming early this year, better go out and slab a few big Ashes.

I don't have any bars long enough to put the Husqvarnas on the mill, so the old Sachs Dolmars will get the nod for mill duty.

I will get some pics later, but here is my trusty slabber,

Sachsmo,
Of all the 153's i have and have seen, Yours is
the first with the Electronic decal on the clutch
cover. Do you know what year this 153 of yours
is.
Show us them slabs when done.

Lee

Congrats! Are you going to keep this "ticket" for a change?

I'll atleast keep it until the next thing I want comes along. :msp_rolleyes:

I plan on keeping it around. The other saws that I'll actually use to cut firewood and some land clearing will probably always be revolving. I'm already planning on the next saw and I haven't even ran the 576 yet. My dad seems to like it for cutting wood for their firepit to sit around and bs. I thought a 562 was going to be next but I'm not waiting any longer on it. I got another 390xp on the way when I get home also. I want to get a 066 for the buildoff. Of course that's what they pick when I sell the one I had a week before. :bang: I've been searching for a used pro sharp but can't fine one of them either. I might get another grinder for thanksgiving this year.

Dunno 'bout the "Electronic" sticker, it was on the saw when I got it.

Could be from a 152, as Acres site shows the 152 with that sticker? Do you know how to date them by serial number?

Someone out there has to have a way to date these by the numbers.

Mark what makes you think yours is a early model?

Here are the numbers from my 152,

153/083656

Thats the number on the 153 hanging the mill. Oh yeah here's a few slabs,

My 6000 has that sticker for what its worth and we now know its a early 152 right?

Mark, I would guess maybe a later 152. The early
152's had points ignitions.

Some parts are dated, It would be a circle with a
two digit number in the center of the circle which
would be the date. Bottom side of the top covers
is a good place to look.

Good point on the ign, but I got confused with this whole sprocket bore size. From the other thread I started on it I thought that some later 152's had the smaller crank dia like the 153. But I might have missunderstood.

All I know for sure is that mine use's a 21mm bore on the sprocket and there are alot of sprockets out there with a 18mm bore listed as for a 152/153/166 and obvioulsly they wont fit my 6000/152.
