Sounds pretty damn good Mark.
The 3/8 is a nice chain for them.
The 404 is good also as long as
you run the 7 pin sprocket. 8 is
a bit much for that saw.

UL that area of your collection looks to be a bit thin. Work on it!:D

I'm thinking you need to add a custom user title below your username (in place of "Arboristsite MVP"). If you and another fellow can dub me "Mister Wizard" then I say you're officially "Uncle Lee". You need an avatar pic too. That 101B-G picture in your sig line would do nicely.

Well Aaron, Don't really focus on the smaller saws as the
ones i have a use for my firewood duties. The 120SI saws
are my favorites. Gotta love them. I would like to get a
nice 6800I, Someday.

I'm a no frills kinda guy, I keep myself very basic. It took
a long time for me to put a pic up in my sig. And sometimes
trying to figure out how to do all this computor stuff can baffle
this uncle. Maybe someday when i have time to mess around.

Uncle Lee

Yep she is a sweet well mannered runner, thats for sure.

That wood Gregg had there was some of that good ole midwest Oak and it had about 28-30" of that 38" bar in it.

It wouldnt have sounded near that well with a .404X8 on it in that stuff. Strange it was setup by Dolmar with that combo and basically the only way it could be setup with .404.

the old dudes pull down and get it!

They really do like a good bit of ignition timing advance.

I have one on milling duty that none of my 2100/1100s can touch.

Well i do have more bigguns than the average Joe!!!!!!!!

As for the smaller saws, Lets see, I have

1 116SI
3 120SI
2 119
2 114
1 112
and 1 Makita 6000I

How'd i do.

Uncle Lee

Think you got it covered there Uncle Lee.

no new ones to add,

But you need a bar this big to drop start it!

OK not a true drop start, more of a handle behind the knee type.

Love the big boy comin' in and out of four strokin'.

Them big boys have a "different kind of power" Low Down Torquin'.

The newer saws are fast and sexy, but ya gotta love them old ones.

Went out to the shed on Turkey Day and took a pic of my favorite firewood saw.

It wasn't a 6 cuber, but snapped a shot of a few;

Alright Homo-lite fans, some more pics.

This is the spike (on the right) that came with the 2000, obvious its from a 925 series, the real spike (for a 2000/2100) next to it. The smaller one does fit, there is an extra hole in the case to accommodate the smaller spike. The left one is, I believe, the original spike, not a west coast spike, but a good one for bucking logs!! Notice the fresh saw dust....

Super 2100 on the left, 2000 on the right. You can see the difference in size, especially in the starter and in the cylinder cover. The 2000 starter cover I believe will interchange with a 1050 Super, they look identical.

Same height and feel very close in weight. The 2100 and 2000 share the same muffler cover and the clutch also, but I really like the 2100 Supers cover. The 2000 has a bent and broken bar, right at the joint for the tank leg:msp_sad:

I did run the saw today, no video, it was near dark.. but, it ran well. Fuel system got a new fuel line in and out of the tank, new filter and checked the carb. Seller had put it away dry years ago, compression is stout and I used the decomp to start it, first couple pulls almost jerked my arm out of socket! It ran unbelievably well for a saw not run in almost 15-20 years. Needs a bigger bar for sure, the 33" roller nose is nice but not long enough! Now I need a big log to cut a couple cookies from.... to compare the 2100 against the 2000 of course:msp_biggrin:

No new 6 cuber for me,

I did modify a set of dawgs I had made previously.

Kinda modeled them after the si dawgs, I know I need a chain for that bar, but really looking for a bigger than 24" for the old gal.

Don't use a lot of .404?
