you are right john, alot of the cream is done and gone. lots of old rotten wood to be had though LOL. some cream to though. still alot of clean old growth around here. only thing is the hippies climb them when you start cutting them  up in cull territory i thought you guys just had little pecker poles a hand saw would have no problem taking down even from the beginning of time?

This continent was discovered on the east coast , the only tree huggers that landed here were the ones that were so happy to survive the crossing that they kissed the dirt and hugged the first tree they saw , then it was rape and pillage , load the spoils on ships and send it back to the homeland .
I'll be able to find plenty of wood to last my lifetime , I'll be able to cut almost all of it with a 16"bar and a 50cc saw which means less straining as I get older .

After being on this forum for a bit, and getting the right tools I have come to appreciate any wood that's worth my time. I cut for firewood, and its personal uses so I take was easy and helps clean up my woodlot. I've been spending a lot of time cleaning up 'pecker poles'. its all good firewood, and only takes a single split!

its great to carry out 8-12 ft lengths by hand and then cut them in the open with ease.
