They keep getting smaller

I've had a couple of convenience stores contact me for bundles because they found out I supply a few campsites. first, I just don't want to get any bigger than I am already so that leaves me out. Anyway, they have told me they retail out for $4.99 and their wholesale cost is $2.50 a bundle for a .75 bundle. Usually these stores are limited to shelf space inside, so have to make a display/sales area outside. Of the 3 that I have been contacted by, they have indicated that over 30% of their bundles walk away, thus the high margin needed, but, the reason they are even attempting to sell them is to get people to come to their stores and purchase other things. It must work, as I wouldn't want to mess with stuff that walked away or I wasn't cashing in on.
so they are making 70% profit when you account for loosing 30%

I make a point, none of my oak goes elsewhere unless it has been stacked through at least two summers. I know my bundles are absolutely the best around here, the most generous, best wood (all heartwood, spotless, zero bark), heaviest, and with free kindling. I bet I could dominate the whole bundle wood thing around here if I went mass production with quality wood, but..no way would I beat the wholesale price around here, which is like two bucks from the big suppliers. So..I stay small and get more. The stores want cheap..meh.
