My prayers are with you and your family. I can sympathize with you, for my grandmother passed away on the 12th of this month around 11:00 P.M.. She died peacfully in her sleep. My brother and I went to visit her earlier in the day around 1:30 P.M., that afternoon. She said that she was tired of fighting and that she loved all of us. Her funeral was on Saturday, and her birthday was today, August 21.

Mary V. Beacham
FRANKLIN -- Mary Virginia Fowler Beacham, 77, died Aug. 12, 2003 at Southampton Memorial Hospital. A native of Southampton, she was the daughter of the late Algie Fowler and Ruby Whitley Story and the widow of Vernon S. Beacham. She was a retired quality control technician with Union Camp Corporation with 30 years service. Mrs. Beacham was a member of the Women of the Moose, the Coast Guard Auxiliary and was a Baptist.
Survivors are a daughter, Shirley B. Yanna and a son, Vernon S. ``Bobo'' Beacham Jr., both of Franklin; two brothers, Walter Story of Warrenton and George Fowler of Suffolk; and two grandchildren, Brandon and Jason Yanna.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Southampton Memorial Park with the Rev. James W. Browder III officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at Wright Funeral Home and suggests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Mrs. Ruth Petty, 112 Southampton Road, Franklin, VA 23851.
