slowp now that you are retired you should start selling real estate to us Collyfornians. Your latest batch of pictures is almost making me move there. To think you have water on the ground outside in... what did you call them, oh yeah, lakes and creeks. We used to have those but we sold them all to SoCal. Our real estate agent was named Lucifer, maybe you've heard of him. I also heard that the people in Seattle pay all the taxes for the whole state. Way cool.

Then it would be ruined and I'd have to move to Little Seattle, Montana!

Works the other way we all pay extra so Seattle can have their pet projects

This is in the "front country". I tried to capture the steepness below the road, but it was too steep for that. If you did go over the side, one of the high stumps made that way to try to hold logs in place might catch your vehicle, but high stumps often didn't work to hold logs--rumble rumble rumble, THWACK. Our area is not a good place if you are acrophobic. Iowa is the place to be for people with that malady.

I saw this cheery sight. I did some of the recon in this area. "At Least We Are Cutting Something."

Reminds me of home

Whenever I see a bit of flagging in the woods, it occurs to me that it means something to somebody. Usually I can figure out who and/or what. That skill comes from having hung a whole lot of 'em in my day.

Something is gonna get cut. There were also tags and paint on the boundary. I wish there were units up higher, at the end of the road. Then the road would get brushed and fixed.

HA! I added about 40 acres to a sale this year just to make sure it got bid on, knowing the road maintenance would be super-expensive. That's a battle we're never gonna win. Stuff is just too good at growing hereabouts.

You are lucky you can do that. We used to get roads fixed and maintained by putting up sales in areas needing that. The wunnerful Northwest Forest Plan put an end to doing that. Now the roads are falling apart and there is no funding to fix them. There is funding to decommission them sometimes instead.
