Awsome job 7oaks, She's beautiful saw.

I have wanted one of these from the time I learned that they existed but never expected to find one. It arrived two days ago and I brought it out here to the cabin (where I have my shop) yesterday before even opening the box. It was more beautiful than I had expected – though a bit on the dirty side.
Here it is as arrived:
Yes it is a 137cc Stihl Contra S (for Super).
I plan on cleaning it up in the next couple days and will post additional pictures of the progress if there is interest amongst you all.
As you can see it is kinda dirty but appears to be in excellent condition overall.
I will also be asking assistance as I progress. My first question is does anyone have a way of dating this saw by the serial #?
Here is a pic of the plastic bonnet…
Obviously the STIHL logo badge is missing and I’ll be looking for one of these (I think I’ve seen them on eBay but haven’t taken the time to look yet).
Does anyone know a way of cleaning up the Contra Lightning S lettering? I’m not a very steady hand so won’t attempt to re-paint it.
Actually, since this saw is in such good cosmetic appearance I probably wont do much to it other than a clean up and a bit of polishing it’s worst points.
More later. I’m on a very slow connection out here in God’s country so want to test and see how long it will take to upload all these pics.
