We've been having 60 mph gusts of wind here all day long...Hopefully it'll bring more business....DDM...If you happen to read this,is there much damage down your way?? There is quite a bit here and there over here...If I start getting a bunch of calls I'm going to have to sub some work out because I'm already three months behind....I've heard that it's supposed to get a little stronger before it goes out later on tonight.

Winding as hell here today I was clearing some land wasn't gusty.Good thing about the wind all the tree's went one way even if they were leaning hard the other way.:hmm3grin2orange: :hmm3grin2orange:

Close call!

Used a crane to take a large hickory off a house this morning. Winds 25 mph with 40 mph gusts. Finished with the crane and sent crew to lunch at 12:30. While sitting in my pick-up, parked on the street, heard cracking and popping sounds. Looked to my right just in time to see a large white oak uproot, collect a medium size white oak, and crash right where we had been working. Watch your back in these windy conditions!

Usually I won't climb or attempt anything dangerous when it's this windy,We went and got up a downed red oak this morning, then called it a day...Everything else I have to do would have been too risky.

Wind

They predicted wind gust 50 to 60 mph today. Been watching outside don't even see a tree moving and all the heavy snow amounted to 3 inches. So I guess no extra work this storm.

We're getting some good gusts where I am, and my location is fairly sheltered. I imagine the tree guys around here will be busy. Hope I don't lose power!

I have got lots of work already from the wind. Removed a broken maple from a roof, and a uprooted pine from a storage facility. Got 5 more jobs to do tommorow. I was already over booked this week. Got to get it when you can.

Come up north, we didn't get the wind like Vermont, but we did get over a foot of white concrete. Trees & wires down all over the place. US Rt 9 has been closed all day in one area, is still closed as far as I know.

had to go cut a pine tree off my dad's 98 ford ranger this morning about 40 ft of the top broke out. all of the log hit the hood, roof crushed the roof, and the branches landed perfect in the bed. i told him months ago to cut it down but he said its a nice tree. i told him today look at the nice job it did on your truck.

huge old oak I worked on last year busted apart. pics tomorrow.

Branch fell on car. Owner wants risk assessment on the rest of the neighbor's trees.

zero damage on my land because the trees share the wind.:givebeer:

The only good pine tree is one that is cut into board length and neatly stacked!

I've got a small pine down from the wind. Miserable 40 high, 5" DBH thing. A skinny thing that grew in the shade. Just big enough to do some damage if it comes down in the wrong place. Fortunately, it didn't break anything. The bad news is, it's hung on the neighbor's tree over the back fence, right where the OTHER pine smashed the fence (from before I lived here). It's actually on the property of the neighbor next to me, falls across the corner of my lot, and lands in the tree on the lot in back of me.

The bad thing is, it's got a twin growing from a spot about 3 feet from it, and about the same size. The one that's down uprooted, and that's affecting its neighbor, and the neighbor tree is leaning toward my shed! Why don't I fall it? No place safe. It's on my neighbor's property, and toward my place are larger trees. Thick. The only opening is toward my neighbor's barn, or his pickup that's been sitting there gathering dust for the two years I've lived here. Nice F-150, looks like it might have driven from the dealer's floor to that spot. Nothing wrong with it, just dirty from sitting. I don' unnerstan. Lucy! :dizzy:
