this may sound stupid but o well.. whats the best way to connect the small 3/16 throw line to your 1/2 pulling or climbing roap?

I use a clove hitch then 2 or 3 half hitches after that. I also use a girth hitch and then half hitches if the troline is set up with a permanent loop in the end.
 
Either of those 2 hitches work well. I tie a permanent loop about 2" in diameter on the end of my throw line, large enough to allow me to slip the bag through to girth hitch it to the throw line. After I retrieve the bag I just slip it off and girth hitch the climbing line to the throw line and add a half hitch or two. If it is an iffy pull then I add a piece of electrical to secure the two together.

BTW this would get a better responce in the Arborist thread.
