Hmmm it realy doesn't look that difficult a thing to remove.

Cut near the base until through cut 1/2 way with a up cut then finish down, wait for the roll to the left when it seperates as a big limb at the top will force that to happen, then truck and chain time to pull it onto the ground.
No need to go up that tree at all and i see little or no chance for a barber poll happening with the bulk of weight hung in other trees.
Good chance for a pinch saw though so have a couple wedges handy as you cut.
You can avoid a pinch saw with a deep V cut from the top maybe 75%, then finish the last 4-5" straight through.
Might even slowly sag down, peel or snap when you have deep V cut, all good though since the snap would head straigt down.

You are in great error my friend...my life is full of great fruit & content...amazingly, less than 0.50% of it revolves around Aboristsite.com. STAY OUT OF GROWN FOLKS BUSINESS!:deadhorse:
But Stang the smiles are the only content he's got other than a pile of troll.

Hello,
I'd only go for it if I had a skid steer or tractor handy !!!! If you drop it and it gets hung up on the other trees around it, you will need to chain it and pull it down with the skid steer or tractor !!!! Good luck !!!! I had a similar feeling about an oak tree that was hanging over the front of my house. There were two trees (oak) side by side , but one was hanging over the front of the house. I looked at that tree for a year or so......one day feeling like I could do the job, the next day being a chicken. I got 2 estimates on cutting them down, each wanted $300 which I thought was too much. I just wanted them dropped, no cutting up in lengths or brush removal !!! The one hanging over the house was only about 12" dia. at the base and pretty skinny at the top. So finally about a month or so ago, I grew the pair that I needed to get the job done. I had a buddy and my brother-in-law help me. My brother -in-law could run my skid steer, so that was his job. My buddy didn't mind climbing so he went up and hooked the steel cable to it.....I was the saw man !!!!! My BIL backed the skid steer up and had the leaner vertical before I even had the saw started. I cut my notch then laid into the back cut......after not cutting very deep at all, she started to crack and I gave my BIL the go sign and the tree went over at exactly the right place with no problems at all. What a great feeling that I could get the job down without having to rely on paying someone else !!!! With just the help of 2 friends, we all had fun and I saved 3 bills......it was all good !!!!! Now on the other side of the coin, if it had fallen on the house, that would have stunk !!!!!!! Life is fun !!!!!!

While it is still not clear what the situation is due to your extremely poor camera skills, I would do it. Just cut the leaner with a notch starting at the bottom, and work your way up. Can you run? I hope you do not cut trees like you take pictures.

I'm throwin' one in here. Somebody mentioned limitations. I'm not burning that reeking sopping wet hackberry if the Stihl Bikini calendar models came out and dropped it right between my furnace and a polylite full of Beck's beer which were being opened by the St. Pauli girl while they was being poured down my throat by Daisy Duke. It reeks and the bark will give you warts. There. That's my limits.

I think some people need a thrill in their lives, in order to make it more interesting. I run difficult whitewater in order to get my thrills. I used to do stunts on my mountain bike, and before that, used to do very imprudent things on my motorcycle. It is a basic human need for some.

It looks like yer turn in the barrel today, Reg. Sigmund Freud would probably be having a filed day with all the derogatory comments. Hang in there, it'll all blow over as soon as they find a new target.

From the same source...

Top post, if ever, business email between individuals or a small group.

Bottom post, or interleave, everything else.

For only the barest introduction to the great top / bottom post world:

Hahahaha...it's alright Mac
Probably were beaten and subject to all sorts of depraved treatment as children...praying fer em.
Trying to connect the widow and her young ones with some help...besides we ditched the Hackberry and just grabbed a few of measly Shagbarks in their stead!;)
