Too Much Chain

I used my Stihl 064 Magnum with the 30" bar with the 3/8 .063 chain today to fell a 38" pecan. I used the Humbolt notch and had no problems. The chain did not cause any stalling, I plunged to cut the diagonal part of Humbolt and had no problems, I think it is a good setup.
 
Please clarify the model of saw you're using.  Has it incorrectly been referred-to as 046 up 'til now or is this last reference to 064 wrong?

I'm not sure there is a distinct performance advantage/disadvantage to .063 or .050. I do however know that 3/8 will cut faster than .404. The only real advantage to .050 is it is more readily available. As long as you have it run it.
