1. 18 gallon tubs that come in different colors and stack together; loadem on the hand truck and roll to the tree with all of the rigging/climbing gear!
2. Put empty ones under the tree and see if I can make a basket.
3. Drop a huge limb on one without cringing about messing it up!
4. Lids keep leaves, twigs, and rain/snow out/ doubles as a seat at lunchtime
5. Immeasureable satisfaction from bouncing an empty tub off of a coworker or dumping a waterfilled one!

I don't have any Rubbermaid totes. I do have a couple of Hillbilly Totes, plastic kitty litter tubs about the size of a five-gallon bucket, with square corners. They also have hinged lids that easily snap shut. And a handle for easy carrying. Great for feeding out ropes up to 150' long by 9/16" dia. As far putting a log in an empty one, I've never tried that, but I am quite skilled at breaking coffee mugs left in the drop zone. ;)

I've become pretty good at this as well....about 5 or so a year....coffee mugs that is.

We keep a 300' long 3/4" bull rope in a Rubbermade tote though I'm not sure what size it is. Two guys can grab the handles, toss in a couple blocks and slings, and carry the tote to the tree. The rope stays clean and twigless. Also no UV damage in the back of the truck. It is easy to flake the rope back into and "never" tangles.
