I have never regretted buying my set of Bondhus T handle torx bit set, the T27 has seen serious over torque removing others ham fisted fasteners from cylinder bases. The T27 long shaft impact I use in the 1/4 " drive has also payed for itself many times over.

I have a Bondhus T handle hex set as well as a regular set of Allen keys. They are very tough tools. I agree with the over torque thing. A few times I was waiting for the snap of broken, hard steel but it never happened.
They are worth the money.

We have yet to reach the point of oils yet. Intrigued to see where the post ends up.
I had to get out the Torx driver set to fix the motor on my wood splitter,,
is a 12 ton wood splitter adequate for straightening a bent Torx driver??
I may need to update the type of oil I use in that splitter to get more tonnage.

I saw an article that using chainsaw oil in a splitter's hydraulic system, the tonnage will increase,,
is that enough additional tonnage to straighten my Torx??

Hi,

I wanted to share my thoughts on these Ajax impact bits, they have been fantastic and I’ve worked them hard them for at least a year and a half, if not two and they’ve never let me down. Highly recommended for anyone working on saws and other small engines:

Where did u order the Ajax torx set from? I’m in Canada and can only find them from Australia.

Am I the only one who shy’s away from impact drivers on small engine stuff. I got a few options for torx drivers got 2 of them fold out multi things tha have been with me for a while. then I had 5 ts350’s to work on I ordered a t handle t27 from farmertec but it took forever to get here so I was out and about stopped by home hardware and they had nice torx screw drivers with hex shanks you can put a wrench on I have used that on everything Stihl since and it hasn’t been and issue.

Lots of us use them because they make the process so much more efficient and less mind numbing. I can’t stand turning wrenches unless I’m doing the final setting with a torque wrench. Once you’ve used one, you won’t go back. It’s important to seperate impact wrench and impact driver too.

I won’t use an impact wrench on small engines. Even my m12 Milwaukee hits so hard it will increase the risk of snapping the smaller fasteners if they are a little stuck. That or it will increase the chances of damaging the driver bit heads.

Impact driver hits much lighter and more often. Impact wrench hits way harder per strike and less frequently.

If a nut or bolt on a small engine won’t come off with the Milwaukee m12 impact driver, the answer isn’t the wrench unless you want to damage it. A little heat and some 50:50 aceton / atf and a socket and wrench is the answer.

The impact wrench comes into its own on 3/8 nuts and bolts. 8mm - 21mm on things like lawn mowers, cars, small vans etc.

Everything finally arrived. My driver bits were a mixed bag and spread out all over so I decided to get a proper set along with 2 different drivers. This kit is what I came up with. Everything fits in the box but the ratcheting T-Handle driver.

I have a set of 1/2" drive neiko impact sockets, the steel is too soft. Let us know how they hold up over time with use.

I just use the Stihl T27 scrench when I’m working on something with T27 bolts. I didn’t really like Torx bolts at first, but now that I have the proper Torx bits, I’d wish all manufacturers would just use Torx bolts for assembly
