Does anyone stack there firewood on a trailer with a roof, and tow it near your house when you run low. Like this guy?

I saw another Farm Show article where a guy made a much larger one that was 20' long and held 3 cords. He pulled it with a good sized Ford tractor.

If I do make one it would be a 1 cord version and I'd likely keep it as low as possible to avoid tipping. Maybe 3' h x 5' w x 9' long.

I've seen it done on hay wagons. They're pretty cheap to buy, although you'd need it to have a halfway decent deck. They're also nice because they won't tip forward and back.

Maybe it was on here, I'm not sure, but someone's neighbor had a real nice one with a steel roof. Every winter they'd go around a fence line and fill the wagon while clearing the fence line. Then they'd park the wagon at the top of a hill with nice wind and sun exposure. Then come fall when the wood was dry they'd bring it down right next to wherever they were gonna use it. Seems pretty slick to me.

I use a old military trailer which has a tarp. Load a cord on it then park it by my walkout basement, rinse and repeat. I like this because it keeps my stacks and splitting area away from the house.

I wonder if there could ever be a bidness case for a massive fleet of trailers, filled directly off the processor and parked until Winter deliveries and then hired out over Summer until needed to store firewood.
Nah, silly idea.

What happens when its so warm and wet you can hardly walk across the yard?

I made a wooden cover for my dump trailer and used it beside the owb one year. Hauled it to the pile and loaded it with loader tractor, lifted the cover onto it and parked it beside the owb. Raise it up as I emptied it. Worked fine but my wife didn't like the looks of it so built this and she didn't like it either. Decided to not listen to her anymore.

From a while back. The flatbed is empty. Not sure if I am going to fill it back up. I would rather fill IBC totes, as I can get a decent price on em, fill em once, and don't handle wood again.
