I was deadwooding/thinning a driveway with many tall trees an decided to traverse between them . The upper canopies (about 60' up) were within pole saw reach of each other so after setting another line, with friction hitch ,in the next tree I could simply...Crank my self across with the Pantim...I thought I was a Buzz so ....have you tried it??

You da man, Rob!!

And since you're down under, did you do the traverse upside down??? Sorry bout my inquiring mind....

Umm, methinx it is speeled Pantin.....

Mike,

Was that you watching me last week? :)

Panti...N... means puppet in French

For short traverses I just foot lock. The Pantin does work nice when the traverse has altitude gain though. The pull of the pendulum is pretty heavy.

I didn’t realize that you had to thin driveways in Australia  guess it’s to prevent debris from falling into the trees?
I have got to go on vacation there one of these days

I've been transfering on my tail lately by throwing a monkey fist into a crotch.

The MF acts as a jam knot and i can pull myself across with an ascender, using my original TIP to keep me from doing like Mike does.

Sometimes i get a high zone and adjacent low zone Actually rigging zones most important. i set the same rigging line in both zones giving the safety etc. of upside down "U". Each support shares the load of it's brother, gives extra friction, keeps groundie clear and less likely to allow him/her self to be pulled in to falling load etc.

i work high first, then still tide in ride rigging line to lower point, sometimes lanyard is tether, sometimes prussik when no/not enough slant; even aluminum snap makes a good full extension 'wacky' tender to help scooch etc. sometimes it werks pretty good, even to another tree. A few times line was ancohored past small tree to deliver there not quite straight down.

Orrr something like that!

ROFLMHO!! KC. You need to find a market that will pay for your illustrations.Maybe, everyone who gets $20 from Mike for bad sparkplugs could kick in $2 and support your retirement.:D

Thanx, hope wee see a knew age;
in this slideshow of pix that has been always available for us to post especially with larger file allowances, waiting to be found; like other strategies around us on site.

i think more step by step stuff, some with written descriptions, knot animation/slideshow, side by side comparison of different choice of strategic actions to effects etc. aree right here available to us.

Mike's images lent into that play/ploy so i had ta steal'em as i was werking on avatar of lil'maniac with hatchet (who be that?) chanting the devil's own name (or something like that:D ).

Once again bringing something from the play and exercise of humor; to a usable developed point/observation to go forth more seriously with; ............. ummmmm ohhh after a few more cheap shots of course!!!

Orrrrrrr something like that!
