Hi Jmack,
Nice to meet you. Where are you from in CT? I am from Southington, I noticed it says you are a climber in your biography, just wondering if you were willing to train me in tree climbing. I am willing to pay for lessons. Please get back to me, I am very determined to learn. Thanks

I have a Buckinham Master II that I've been using for over six years now.

I've tried others, but like the fixed attatchement points vs. a floating D.

See if there is an arbo course near you that has a climbing class. They may let you try on a few different saddles, or have a short course you can take.

My next saddle will probably be another MII but with the optionable fixed suspenders. I wear enough gear on my belt the the saddle slipps off my assless hipps after a little while.

Hi John,
Thanks for the advice, much appreciated.Unfortunatly no climbing courses are offered around here, I think there may be one in july but it is only for one day in woodstock ct. I need to find a pro climber thats willing to train me for a nominal fee.

You have to look long and hard to find anyone who dislikes the Ness(New Tribe Work Saddle). That says a lot since nearly every other saddle has as many detractors as fans. The tree Austria is hardly ever criticized bey anyone who has tried it so it is anoth prime choice. I find it interesting that JPS likes the Master II for its fixed attchment points and I finally found mine comfortable when I added a bridge. I don't know how anyone keeps a MII up without suspenders.

maybe you could try makin your own. check this baby out. light weight and affordable. make sure sure all the strops are ANSI rated. try adding some extra padding such as cut up old t-shirts behind the leg when you are doing jobs where you're hanging a lot like when your bracing. i've been working with manufacturers harnesses for years but got fed up with them cos they never really fit properly and they cost so much  . i think its time for the arbos to become more introspective on the gear they use and stop allowing the large, aggresive manufacturers from france to push in on yankee traditions.
topping and terrorism is bad.
madbull.
Hey madbull I just went back to reread what you wrote and saw that you had one post, sorry i lit up on you but the industry has enough safety problems without homemade gear, the gear is not expensive its your life charge for it! you will not find alot of the g population working at height with a dangerous tool on a halfinchline. like i tell the shoppers hey its not like we are plumbers any way i was still getting jacked on coffe when i went off come on back read post and learn.
