ASCA is hampered in part because it does not cooperate much with ISA, refusing to be formally Associated with it. No org is perfect, but they all beat flying solo.Why not have an economic threshold to join an association? 1 it pays for the maintenance with a limited number of members, and 2 it keeps the riff-raff wannabes out.

Hey Master Gardener is a good program, 40 hrs. ed for 40 hrs volunteering. I was an MG before I was a CA; it's a nice cheap cert and good pr and you get some VERY good references from extension offices.people make a big deal about the Master Gardener appellation.
