There are a few dealers here In the PNW that you can order that combo from and have it in two to three days. Madsens likely stocks the bar, chain, and stocks 880's. Oh yea, they can port it as well.
btw - TBrown owns this badass saw. He lives close to me and was nice enough to borrow it to me. Hedgerow sent me the bar... and I gladly sent it back after I was done! lol ...it's way cool but a PITA to do much of anything with...even 60" bar would be way better! The weight of the bar is soo far away from you, it makes the saw feel like it weighs a METRIC SH*T TON! (a unit of measurement standardized by Redbull660)

yeah Tree Monkey did a hell of a job porting it. Tons of torque to pull 404 RS full comp 72"...198 drivers! :rock:

weight = 14 lbs 8oz
overall length - 76"

The chain alone should weigh in right about 2 lbs. A 96" bar chain weighs 4lbs.

Thanks. I think a stock 880 is bad ass.
Come to one of PNW gtg's and make a few cuts with a strong big saw and you might think differently.

My stock 880 would stop the chain when I tried to bury the 60" bar in some big leaf maple. Port it and well, that video is a good example of what the saw should be.

Mine had the same feeling...........
Stock, it was a turd, had to send it off to Tennessee for some weight-loss surgery..

Here is a RS chain for a Stihl 25" bar running .404

I would bet that the chain weighs more than 2 pounds (I can also weigh a 36" and then we could extrapolate easily)

Well I blame Ted then cuz he's the one that was grinding on the chains!!!

I'd like to blame Ted for grinding me some chains. The fullskip Klassic was oiling better than the first one. Was making better chips and more of them.

I'd like to see some temperature and oil consumption readings form the various chains.

Chain 2 coolest full skip square then 1 the full comp round then 3 the semi skip round because a dull chain cutting wire will drag and make more heat i would think ????

How expensive is it to build a chain that's semi skip/full in 28". I want to do it but my local dealer doesn't want to sell me presets and tie straps. I want to get some experience building chains. I have a few loops I can experiment with.
