How expensive is it to build a chain that's semi skip/full in 28". I want to do it but my local dealer doesn't want to sell me presets and tie straps. I want to get some experience building chains. I have a few loops I can experiment with.

added about $40-45 to the cost of the RS "H" chain tested (3rd chain). But that is probably cheap considering how many hours it took to make the chain....I didn't keep track. I don't want to know. lol

Here is a RS chain for a Stihl 25" bar running .404

I would bet that the chain weighs more than 2 pounds (I can also weigh a 36" and then we could extrapolate easily)
