I have looked at every sponsor, site whoever sells climbing gear. The largest flipline I have seen is 18 feet. I need some help where we can find the self locking type, like in the bailey's kit. The wire core one. All help is really appreciated thanks Norm...............

Must be a BIG tree you're climbing. You could make your own with a climbing line and cam device. Of course it will be pretty tough to flip if it's over 18'

You can make your own or theirs a place in Australia that puts the wire in the core. Dont know where or who. When trees get that big, stiff, static rope works well to flip. Whats the application?

I use the 18' max-flip and add on a short extension to the flip end when needed, or use two flip lines, one on each D, connected end to end till you get up the trunk a ways. If you really want one longer, Try asking Sherrill. I asked for a 20' Lava for use with the ART Positioner and they provided, no problem.

Unless you are doing trees that big on a daily basis I would save your money and just use a secondary line as a lanyard. I did this on a particularly large tree I had to do a couple of years ago. I just took my cammed ascender off of my regular flip line and put it on an old piece of safety blue that I had. I wasn't sure how much line I would need to get around the tree so I put it on the 90' or so length of the safety blue. It worked like a charm and saved me from having to spend over a hundred clams on an overly long flip line that I was only likely to use once or twice.

Here's a pic. I've got my life line, a bull line and the safety blue line that I am using as a lanyard hanging in this pic. It's about 4' diameter wood at that point and is around 65' up. I had 16-20' of line out to get around the wood with my homemade lanyard at that point.

Thank you guys for the replies. It is for my friend and partner John parmeter, if you have ever seen the working man, and chainsaw thread. His old one is wire core, and it is worn out. You guy's had the great idea to temporarily ad to it, which he has in the past in bigger trees. We do alot of redwood work, and they get some girth, run short many times. So we have to buy a new one either way, because the old one is about shot, and he said he wants one that will do all we need. Tree M.D love that picture good tree, and nice work! A new site friend recommended Baileys, said the can help. Thanks again Norm.........
