Anybody have any experience lining their dump boxes with this stuff? I've heard good things about it's durability and it's slickness. Thoughts?

Holy #### that pic's big. Sorry guys, I don't know how to fix it.

We use it a bunch at work. Its expensive, but slicker than pig snot, and tough as a pine knot. It would work awesome in a dump box.

A few hundred dollars to line the box isn't much as long as it holds up.

It will hold up. Its that good. If you do it, get the thickest you can. The thinner it is, the less impact it will take. At 3/4" thick, I think it could stop a bullet. FYI, UHMW stands for "Ultra High Molecular Weight". A 4'x8' sheet of 3/4" probably weigh's 100 pounds or more.

dude you are the king of proverbs that rocked.

Ha, I guess im a poet that didnt know it.

UHMW is awesome. I run a machine and weld shop and I've seen it used in everything from crawler track wheel bushings to all kinds of agricultural uses like bed lining, chute lining, conveyors, to rock crawler skid plates. It's great stuff.

Unless you're dropping big rocks or logs in it I think 1/2" should be plenty.

I want it mainly for the slippery effect since it looks like I'm only getting a 40 degree dump angle without buying a new hoist. It needs to hold up to general rigors but it's going over 10 guage steel with 4 inch C channel welded 12 inches on center under that so it's a pretty bulletproof set up. I figure 3/8ths UHMW will be sufficient for wood chips with the occasional load of firewood, topsoil, sand or stone.

So, where to get it and how much is expensive? I'd love to have some in my dump trailer as it doesn't dump high enough to get everything out sometimes. That stuff would surely help.

Im sure it could be found for cheaper, its just that I knew grainger would have it. Grainger seems to be much higher on stuff than most places.

It'd probably be cheaper and better for me to just find a multi-stage hydraulic ram for my dump trailer to get the extra lift. I like my little trailer but it was poorly designed. I put an angle meter on it and it only dumps 25°.

You don't want to get it from grainger or mcmaster, get it from a plactics place. I will check with my purchasing guy tomorrow.

Pretty sure black is UV resistant, white is not.

I could see the hope...

I was with you, I clicked the link too, saw Grainger, and thought, "oh man, this is gonna be like $100.00/sheet..."

Holy crap! Expensive!

Hope just exploded. For some reason it was like I was there, and I totally heard you say a real cuss word. Kudos to you for projecting to me what you were really thinking... LMAO

Rep to ya, funny as a fart in an MRI to me...Thanks
