Don't ask me why there are two left pads in that picture I found  . By the way, they take a single calf strap for each leg. Leather is my choice.

NE,
The Geckos are different than they standard climbers. I started with buck pole spikes, and have used the tree spikes as well. I'll never go back. It took some getting used to becasue with my old pole spikes I would stomp them in and my boot would be touching the tree, with the geckos the boot is off of the tree. having my boot on the tree or close enough to prevent rotation was the biggest thing to get used to. At first I gaffed out a bunch of times because I would swivel my foot a little too much. I think if i were coming from the longer tree gaffs this would not have been such an adjustment because they keep the boot away a little also. When I really like them is when I am blocking down a spar. They allow you to stand a little more up right and you can almost put your knees against the spar because of the gecko gaff design, where the normal style would always kick out if you got your knees that close to the trunk. They allow you to stand a little more upright and cause a little less fatigue when working down a spar.

Kleins have gaffs that curve out more than my buckinghams. I don't believe they go out as far as the geckos but I do think it is beneficial.

Ok....no matter how hard I pull or make them tight the things shift and feel loose. What gives if anyone one from Sheril is reading?????

Which style velcro's are they? Is there a metal ring that reverses the wrap direction, or do they just wrap?

Those aluminum "Cadillac" pads are the ones I bought a couple of months ago and I like them better than the velcro ones I had been using for the past 15 years.
