I picked up this old vintage Remington Super 754 over the weekend, I was fooling with it this evening and I can't get the spark plug out because I can't get a socket into the hole. There is a finger grip that is so close to the plug I just can't get to it, there might be 3/4" of clearence. Has anyone ever fooled with one of these old beasts? Maybe I'm stuck on stupid but I can't figure out how to get it out........ below are some pics of the saw and a close-up of the spark plug. Thanks! Matt

I own the same saw and the plug can be removed by useing a short socket. You may have to get a cheap socket and grind some off both ends. Tom

I am sure someone has some NOS parts, but I don't know who. Maybe someone on this site will know of someone that has Remington parts. If you don't find someone send me a P.M. and I will look through my papers to find a source. Tom

Thanks for the compliments! I'd like to get this old saw running and restore it (my first vintage build). I was just trying to check for spark, I guess I could take the case apart, but sooner or later I'll need to get the plug out anyway. Thanks for the tips and I'll try to fabricate a wrench, if anybody knows of a parts source please let me know. Matt in KY

got one of those.

Old timer told me this. Get a regular saw tool that removes the plug, bar, and acts as a screwdriver. Cut the bar removal end off the tool and you got it. Works for me.
