Looking for a good used bar and chain. Doesn't need to be Stihl bar. Oregon Power Match, GB, etc... are fine. Would also like a used loop or two with it.

A new 32" b&c from baileys is $62, 36" is $81. I'd like to spend about half that - plus shipping.

I'd also consider new bars since I'm already looking at 'em anyway!

Thanks,

Chaser

p.s. 3/8 .050 or .063

Yes Cut4fun - my post is sort of a message in a bottle...

Baileys 32" for $45 with a $17 chain is the $62 I was referring to. The 36" for $60 plus a 36" chain (105 links at .20 a link) at $21 is the $81 I was describing.

I guess you're saying I should go ahead and buy new - and those are reasonable prices - but if someone upgraded thier mill and has a used 32 or 36 for sale I'd like to pick one up used. Nothing quite like buying something new and having 3 folks say "dang! if you'd asked me I'd have sold you mine cheap!"

I'm not running a mill (yet) and wanted a bar for cutting a few large pecan stumps. I'm just sending up a flare before I buy new.

Thanks!

I have used 36" Stihl bars and new chains if a sponsor cannot provide one. I will assure you though that it will be very tough to bet the Bailey's price so buying from them will be money well spent.

Thanks Bill, I didn't really expect a Stihl bar to be the most competetive for what I need, though that's mostly what I have.

I've bought good used bars really reasonable in the past here and was sniffing around for a similar find in a long bar. Honestly, I'd buy new Oregon PM or GB or Tsu bars long before I'd pay the same money for a used Stihl.

Is there a sponsor that sells GB Titaniums?

32/36

PM Dean at Washington hot saws. I just bought a large Stihl mount 32 from him. Nothing to look at, but the rails are in nice shape. He seems to have a lot of take-offs they collect in the shop. Large mount Stihl bars are very spendy, and he had a reasonable price. Give him a try.

I believe Chaser is looking for a bar for a 066 which is the 12mm mount and not the large 14mm. They both are costly but the 12mm is much easier to find as it fits the 026-066 with exception of 050/51.

NWCS and 166 are both GB dealers.
