Was the 031AV a good saw?

I think I can get one for next to nothing, looks to be complete, it doesnt run.

Good saw, or troublesome...gutless?
 
Why is the jug slanted to the back? Any reason for that design?
 
I came into a few 031's a short while ago. I love the feel and the performance. What was the last year they were produced?
 
I agree it's a great saw. The most common problem seems to be the condensers. Read up on it in the archives, along with some spirited debates on the merits of aftermarket ignition modules for this saw.

Many parts are getting scarce at the dealer, but you'll find most of what you need in the used market (eBay).

031 is a great saw.

plenty of them out there for a good price.plenty of parts available on ebay.make sure the air filter stays clean though.

Sounds like a decent enough saw!

Ill be up at the place I saw it, tomorrow.

Also might be fortunate enough to finally get a Homelite 150Auto too!
