ha thats kinda funny movie, i liked the part when it all let loose and he gripped up that power wire, im not so great with lines but that looks like triplex it will kill you what is he thinkin i didnt even see if he was tied in to anything

edit ;till i watched the last video just posted

It was an emergency storm clean up in a VERY BAD neighborhood. (Read guys running around waving guns/shooting at things) With little to no room to work with. The lines were dead both ways, no access for a bucket truck, no room for a crane.
He did what he had to do, did it as safe and fast as he could and lived to do it again another day. What more can you ask of a tree guy?:deadhorse:

you know, that was my EXACT conclusion when I saw the video. It just made sense.
Is there a post called " guys running around waving/shooting guns" ?

I read about this elsewhere. Not anybody I know per se. But I guess it was quite the ordeal to get in and out alive that day. I wasn't there, nor would I have even tried to do it, I know I am not that good.
But it sure is easy to judge someones work when you are not there, not them, and not in that situation. JMO.

When I watched it I made the assumption that it was storm clean up and that the power co had made sure the lines were dead (ie breakers tripped and lines grounded).

The only issue I really could see was him one handing a rear handled saw. You would have thought that he would have at least had a top handled saw.

service wires dont hold alot of weight. communication lines hold even less. if noone was around and the power was off, i'd have just stood on the stag and cut the broken piece off, or basecut it. power company's coming back to fix lines anyway, right? better than risking a fall like that. you call ME a hack? lol
