There is a guy around here who won a woodchuck wc-17 back in `97 or `98 at TCI. He sold it to buy a Bandit even after TCI AND Woodchuck offered him additional money to keep it.
We used to rent one once in a while and it clogged up way too easily. Watched the rental mechanic clean it out once when we went to pick it up by running it full blast with half the chute off jamming a broomstick down in there No wonder why he limped and was missing a couple fingers?
I guess it depends on what you're chipping. We ran them in the Asplundh yard I worked in. Never had any probs except when chipping anything evergreen. Then they clogged. Other than that no probs.
