What today's society without scare tactics.
Today's local news stations all ran clips of trees falling on houses, cars, roads, etc.
Maybe we can even scare up some business...

it didn't scare anyone here.
:agree2:It amuses me to no end how this transpires. Sometimes even if there is just a mild storm, you can almost picture the crew in their van scouring the city until they come up with one measly little broken 3 inch diameter silver maple limb snapped and hanging (not even bad enough to knock it off).....and stand next to it and film their whole report if they cannot find someone shot to death or other more desirable news.
We had 3 jobs with trees on houses, from this last blow through. Hope work picks up for you as well, nothing outstanding other than that coming through.
I didnt get anything out of that surprisingly. Some lady about 45 mins away called saying she "has some brush all bundled up, and some other RUBBISH that she would like a price on removing". Oddly enough I did not feel inclined to return her call. lol
On a more serious note: a white pine killed some poor mail lady in one of those little mail vans a couple of towns over. What a shame... got me thinking about odds and the prolonged exposure those people have out there on the roads, starting and stopping all the time like that. Sad. Makes me not feel so bad about hating those trees for anything other than a maintained hedgerow.

POS White pine killed a young school girl here last year too.
It is the Cottonweed of the conifers.

Seen the news clip on that mail lady too. Talk about being at the wrong time at the wrong place.
I used to mark timber when I was younger. I could remember one day it was real windy, I was walking along through forest, five feet in front of my choosen path a huge limb came crashing down. It scared the crap out of me, made me wonder how lucky I was to be alive. A few more steps too soon I would of been a gonner. No one else around either I would have layed there mangled and dead for days untill someone found me.
WE GOT WORK. We were outta work for a few days and now we got a nice little stash of work and firewood is selling like crazy. maybe if everyone tells people they got plenty of work and they are spending money and they tell others and so on and so on they people WILL start spending and the economy will get better.
Kind of the opposite of Broke Obama coming on at Christmas and talking about an Ind. town where people should start seeking shelter as they will be homeless soon.
