Yeah, it's Tuesday, so what?! What did you guys get done this past weekend?

I cleared my creek last fall, removing all the overgrown brush. The conditions were finally right to burn, so I took care of 4 slash piles.

Worked on a jug for one of my projects.

And modified a muffler.

Also managed to sweep the shop and tip a few cold ones back with my wife and our friends!

FourPaws, nice looking cylinder. Are those what they call "finger ports"?

I spent some of the weekend working on a "race" chain, LOTS of filing! There may have been a beer or two involved......

Sweet, I guess I'm not the only one around with a Shindaiwa.:D Nice work on the jug I think, I don't have a clue what it should look like at this point(i don't own a project saw yet), but you seem happy, so it must be good.:biggrinbounce2:

Four Paws whats your sequence to doing the nice polishing on that cylinder if you don't mind me asking, I have a 044 one to do.
As for the weekend I removed an interior wall and started hardwood floring. Never done it before and spent a while getting everything true to start out. Got kinda mad when I found out the oak flooring was made in china!!!!

They sure are! How is your bike saw coming?

There are a few of us lurking. Shindaiwa makes good equipment.

I didn't polish a thing. The mirror look to the cylinder is the natural 'run-in' finish. If you are talking about the port work, I use various carbide burrs (whichever shape I need) to cut and remove the bulk of the material. Then I move to medium grit stones, then to fine grit stones or sandpaper to finish smoothing and feathering. The transfer in that picture hasn't received the sandpaper treatment yet. Right or wrong, that is what works best for me.

Hasn't yet. Still have to finish building the head and pipe for it. It has been a slow process as I am dependent on my friends equipment for the machine work. Might get some work done on the pipe next week. I'll keep everyone posted.
