These guys can be rough, I've run the gamut with them a few times when I announced starting my own biz after only 6 years experience. I have a lot to learn, but I do know where to take chips and wood in my area. Many places my old boss didn't know of, and still doesn't. That's one of the easiest things in this business to learn.

first of all, try spellcheck....the word is "where"

A little dose of common sense will go a long way toward avoiding getting run through the wringer by this tough crowd.

So, let me ask, are you trying to sell what you think might be marketable timber? If so, then check around in your area...Call some loggers, talk to a log trucker, locate a mill..find out what species are being purchased, then ask for specifications.....

things like length, grade, defect, shape, sweep, decay, off center heart, butt swell etc will need to identified.

If that wasn't your intent in your question, then I can't help you, as your request would otherwise make no sense, as far as I can see or tell...

Oh whether you know it are not us old guys that have one leave and branch out on his own like to talk about it a little amongst ourselves. We have to have some kind of recreation. No harm intended.
