Interesting,
Most trees are heavy and wet this time of the year around here. "Sap is running"

Cutting trees is the rain sucks. But has been done. "Once or twice"

Rain soaks the bark and Cambrian layer. "still cutable"

I have cut dead fall that has soaked up rain, ground moisture, and witer snow thaw.

I've found that when my chain gets wet log dull if I cut into a rock with it it sharpens it right back up.

Cutting wet wood is very dangerous!

Cutting wet wood is very dangerous, a few years ago I went to cut up a large oak that had fallen in the lake. I decided to start with the smaller branches so I rowed out in a fishing boat with a friends Super XL, I jumped in the 13 foot water and went to the bottom and began cutting. Somthing caused the saw to staul down there and I allmost drowned trying to swim back to the surface with that heavy old super XL. I will never attempt to cut wet wood again. Incidently, my friend has never let me use his saw again.:ices_rofl: :ices_rofl: :ices_rofl:

Had to cut up the remains of a huge (4' diam) log that was the back stop to one of my brush piles last Mon. It was just a burned out shell. Went great until I got almost to the bottom when I discovered by getting showered with wet black sawdust and lots of water that it had about 6" of water in the bottom.

See I know where you went wrong... it's very difficult to hear the 'pop' when trying to start a saw under water. You should come up for air then get back down there to try again.
