Just bought one of these "utility" jugs. I'm impressed, solid quality, made in USA, and surprisingly cheap. Comes with a spout, vent, looks like a viton O-ring seal. Still prefer my NATO cans but these are more commonly available and cheaper. Not a bad option.

My favorite part is the single one-star review saying "not for fuel use." Gave me a chuckle, utter and complete imbecile.

Those utility jugs are not for transport of fuel. I know of racers being fined for transporting fuel to the track in them.

I like those jugs. They come in white, yellow blue and red.
I wish they would have engineered the lower hand hold better.

I think I may get muh wife to stitch up some kinda mesh or nylon strap and velcro sock or halter with a loop handle at the bottom.

So much all of this. Also, I'm 5' tall, which means any of the "have to hold a tab down" cans are totally unusable for me if I'm trying to fill anything off the ground. Unless I want a gas bath.

In that size range I like Trangia fuel bottles. Best spout design, really easy to pour from.

Back off the lock nut on top of the cap, then it pours when you press the cap down, opening a plunger.

Give it a little burp with both nozzles pointed away from you, to your left and right, or you might get a fuel shower after all.

I've been using that design for a LONG time now.

You don't even need to pay attention. It's designed sort of like a gas nozzle at the gas station. You insert nozzle into the tank, hold the button, and since the vent hole is in the nozzle, once the gas level reaches the fill nozzle, the vent is closed and the fuel stops flowing. Let go of the button and remove the nozzle. Done.

Longevity has been great. I've not had one fail yet. I have 4 or 5 of them now. Useless for filling vehicles or large tanks, but anything small engine they're best thing since sliced bread.

Good to hear, I bought a 5gal and a 2.5gal for my son for Christmas. His cans have rags for covers so anything will be an improvement.

F3ck that monstrosity, f3ck it to the grave and beyond. Your Lowes guy will be the 2nd against the wall when then gas-can wars begin, just behind the designers of that spout. Spouts need to be a tube, with a cap, that you remove when you want to pour, with a vent on the tank that you open beforehand, if you want to. After pouring, close them both. Its not hard. My keyboard doesn't have enough graphic characters to describe how much I despise the nozzles on those Lowe's purchased gas cans. If I used the ones available my post would look like 80's vintage 300 baud BBS line noise.
