What are ways to kill grass

Im thinken of planting some trees. Although it is an old feild, the long grass amkes it extremily hard for the tress to grow. What are good ways to get rid of the grass!!

Go for the glyphosate. Time your application(s) properly.

(And yes, I know a few folks here strongly disapprove of it.)

Depends on how many trees. Sawdust, chips, mulch will keep the grass down long enough for trees to establish.

just burn it with fert, glyphosate can be residual in clay soils.
