TW, have you got any video or action pics of that nitro wildthing? I seen that project build elsewhere awhile back, but never did see any updates.

Wonder what ever happened to the stock wildthing build off that some wanted to do? Sort of like they did with the 359's elsewhere, but everyone could afford to do a wildthing build off. I think them alky/nitro saw have to have a class for themselves and then one for pump/race gas. :biggrinbounce2:

Well, my 660 is stock other than the OE DP muffler cover.

My 361 came with one of Andies mufflers, and then went to Dave for a work over.

Dave just dropped my 441 in the mail today to get back to me. I have some cylinder pics if anyone is interested in seeing the 441 cylinder.

My 136 has the muffler port opened up a bit (needs all the help it can get)
my 371 is stock as are my older stihls
the 359 my most used saw has had the ports opened & polished, dual port muffler with the baffles opened, raised compression, and ign. timing adv. I run a 16" bar on it.

Didn't really have an option to check.

046Big bore, woods port and muffler mod.

346xp ported and muffler modded

192t muffler modded

350 bone stock.

Why you ask? Because everytime I have absolutly needed a saw to run, it has, everytime I had to get a project done, and everything else has failed me, it hasn't!!! Until it does, or is completly worn out, I won't mess with it!!!

Stihl 361-muffler mod
Stihl 361-woods port

SO how does the ported 361 compair to the muff modded one?

First, I would like to thank Rahtreelimbs for posting his inventory. I was beginning to think that I was a little out of control and in need of therapy. I guess all is relative and I'm OK.

Dolmar 401 - muffler mod
Dolmar 540 ported
Dolmar 5100 - stock (for the moment!)
Husky 359 - presently being ported
Husky 372 - ported
Stihl 066 - in pieces, soon to be ported

Really a mix of stock and muffler mods

After next week however I will have to add woods ported mods, cause I am working on my first woods port job on and 066 mag cylinder I salvaged,,, its not perfect got a few lines that didnt clean up perfectly but it should run with only minor compression leakage,,, and one of my 066s that I got from Dean @ WHS we use for flush cutting big stumps I did clean up the intakes casting flaws and polished the exhaust port,,, didnt cut the actual ports,,,,,Yet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:blob2: :blob2: :blob2:

Yo Casey,,,,,Post em dude!!!!!!!!!!

I have a cylinder on my bench... but start a thread with the pics for others!. I want to cut mine in half but Stihl wants it back...:cry:

I'm interested whether Dave (and you) think he got much more out of modding the 441.

Stock Saws;
021
026
038
046
084

Muffler Mod's;
MS260
MS460

Project Saw;
036

Trying my hand at some mild porting on the 036 and I bought a spare piston and cylinder for the 026 to mod as well. We'll see what happens??????

I checked the Muffler Mod box even though most of my saws are stock. Truth be told I really only take two saws to the woods anymore the 260 and the 460. I like them so much the rest don't really see much use. We'll see what happens when I get the 036 together though, man I got screwed on that saw :angry: buts that’s a whole nuther thread.

Wow, I thought the stock saw count would be 75% of the poll. Guess I was way of on that. Seems a majority of the people here mod their saws one way or another. Be it a muffler mod and up. I do say i am surprised with the results so far.

I wonder how many ran just stock saws before finding chainsaw sites and learned of the modding of mufflers and etc.
I personally would have not thought of even muffler modding, had i not had to rebuild a 3750 due to a lying ebay seller and stumbled upon this site.
