How much do you guys pay for basic tree coverage insurance in the US. Not just minor limbing insurance. Minor coverage in NY for landscapers is roughly $6-900. Full tree coverage jumps to $5,000. I did find a rate in Arizona for $1400, but before i go out of state, what do you guys pay and who do you reccomend? Do rates get lowered if you are seasonal, meaning summer time only here in NY? Thanks for your help.

When my business was based in NY I paid about 5 or 6K to start with liability for tree work. When I moved the business out of NY and dropped NY revenue it went down to less than 2K. Getting a price in Arizona would mean you would have to have the bills sent to Arizona, and when they come to audit you, it would have to be in Arizona. As far as I know, the rates are not seasonal. You pay a certain amount down, and then an equal amount each month or quarter.

Payroll & equipment have a lot to do w/ how much your insurance will be. I would also venture that it depends on what your coverage is (if you have a say). Ours is $1,000,000/incident w/ a $2,000,000 agreggate. We also do 50% landscaping to 50% tree work and again, I'm sure that's another reason our rates are lower than some 100% tree companies.

I pay for a half a million liability for 1200/yr

I had to submit dozens of pictures to the insurance company first before they would even insure me ten they gave me an absolute great quote.
