I have some old Oregon 95VP chain and no info on file size.
According to some sources the newer 95VPX uses 3/16,
would that be a 4.8 mm file, I think it is closer to this
than a 4.5 mm file would be to 3/16.

Should I go the larger or smaller file size if buying in mm.
Some stock only mm marked files here.

Thanks for your help

Oregon says 3/16". Here is a list of Oregon files, with SAE and Metric diameters - I would go with the 4.8mm if possible:

Note that it Type 95 is narrow kerf chain, too, so some filing guides (e.g. the Husqvarna roller guides) are different than for standard .325 pitch chain (learned this the hard way).

Thanks @Philbert
I was all set yesterday to buy a Husqvarna roller guide, and something came up,
I bought a chainsaw instead, good job because it was not clear from the description
of the guide that it would not have worked, it was for .325 and some other pitch that
I don’t use anyway, one of the 3/8 if I remember.
Now I need to research an appropriate .325 roller guide with depth gauge.

My collection: both the .325 and .325 NK are silver, so read the package carefully (I 'squared out the depth gauge opening on one to fit over a low kickback chain)

Mine came in a kit with files and a handle. Look for '.325 Pixel'.

Thanks @Philbert , I will be careful choosing, the place I looked did not mention pixel or nk
in the description, will have to look elsewhere.

This one states for 3/16 4.8 mm .325, no mention of pixel, under the Chose Option link

I found it on Amazon. Also most Husqvarna dealers. They call it'H30' chain.

Try

Hi Philbert, I was able to locate the guide on the Husqvarna website,
see the parts online, but the closest to me is in the UK, annoying
the main Husky dealer near me doesn’t have it.

Just going to locate a couple of SP33G chains and guide together
somewhere to save postage.

It`s only the rollers that are orange . . !:hi:
