So what happened with the big 346 race? Did Gypo logger snivel out? Or did Dan Henry scare everybody off with that new pipe? What really happened? Without a race nobody can claim to be the "Man" of the 346's Do you guys realize how bad your making yourselves look. All brag, know facts. Come on, who's really the 346 "Man". Haywood Jablowme

Hi Dennis, glad your up and about. In fact, I, I mean ehp, is the 346 Man. Being the young and impressionable, I will go so far as to say that any woodsaw, regardless of cc. will get their ass kicked by my 346EHP. The 346 Fest was called off cause of my big mouth. The Dozer Dullard crew is scambling now. So I guess what this means is Dan is mad at me and he's stuffing my New as issued,346 and 357 into his outdoor wood furnace. If Dan would just admit that Ken Dunn is the better saw builder, than he would be one of us. I am only repeating what I heard from Woodsflunky and Rick Hoffman.

I have been tooling up my shop this past month, I have decided to take up saw building myself now. I went out and bought a drill for my mufflers like Rupley uses. Then I went to my sisters dental practice and snagger her prostitdontal bits for my porting work. I then placed a 6 inch water waste pipe for my header, yes it's a little heavy. Removed the choke plate and what do you have...
The fastest 346. Not to mention the 1/2 inch chain on the harvester bar.... .

I guess your 357 came from the factory with the carbon build up on top of the piston. They may have tested it a lot.
From the few conversations that I did have with Ken, I found that he is one very knowledgeable individual. He was also willing to share some of his knowledge with me. The man is good at what he does and I have never said otherwise.

(If Dan would just admit that Ken Dunn is the better saw builder, than he would be one of us)
What makes you think that I want to be one of you?
My person opinion of some people has changed a great deal over the past few years.
Dan

i would agree ..what dans does is make a good work saw a lot better work saw..
u seldom hear him talkin about race chain an such.. which he would be into,, if he was into actual saws made for racing,,but not practical for every day work..he would more likly sell u a chain thatwould cut well and mabe last all day.
dan u may be into race chain an all,, but thats not the impression i get ,,so dont think im trying to tell u u buisiness.

:) as to how people think we look ,,
my states motto is to be,, rather than to seem to be.. ive tried to adopt it myself...
as to those that give appearances a lot of importance.. to each his own. nothin wrong with that ,,i guess..just aint my way..john u dont come off that way either. dennis hope u recuperating on schedual..

The East Coast Saga Continues

Zyp,

It's too bad that Dozer Dunn couldn't get all the 346's together so we could find out just how fast they really are. I was looking forward to a report on the outcome of the event this week on AS.
I may be manipulative, but you're the real blabbermouth.

Well I’m not going to speak for others like some do. My 346 is ready any time that John wants to get it on.
From the videos That I have seen of gypos KD 346 I’m not at all scared. I actually think it’s going to be a real close race. So lets run the same bar and chain and just see who’s power head is faster, Unless you a feared? So let me know where and when Johnny.
Some how this whole 346 race has gotten turned around and involves Eds 346 and I know I can’t compete with. It sure doesn’t look like any one else on this site can either. Well maybe master builder DB can.

if you guys need a place to run i have lots of land plus i will just video and time ok i will get the wood and stands are here
it will be cool i think to just sit back and watch and see what happens just let me know and i will set it up ok
just remember bring lots of clothes it does get a little chilly up here but that is only if you call 30 to 40 below most morning cold

EHP;

Where is "up here"? Where in Ontario are you. I thought I was in Northern Ontario and its not even that cold yet in my deep freezer!

Frank

Does the 346 have a full circle crank ala 357? Does Ed have any full circle cranks he wants to sell? I'm putting a 3120 top end on a 394 and a full circle 3120 crank would be just what Elmer Fudd ordered.

Don't be draggin' my arse into this. I never said that Ken Dunn was a better saw builder than Dan Henry. I just reported how much I like the saws that Dan builds and the impressions that they left me with!

hey frank
it is that i live so far up north but it is that i live up
it has not been that cold here yet minus 28 or 29 this winter but the cold weather is comingat any time tomorrow night it is to be minus 28 again but for sure it has been warmer than last years ice age winter
now on cranks
no i donot have any cranks forsale and i donot use full circle cranks when running the good stuff
they take to much area up in the crankcase this is a chainsaw not a snowmobile engine which has a big case to start with
i want as much open area in my crankcase as i can get
