I have a 2000 gmc 6500 w/a 454 gas motor with only 7,500 orig. miles, man box, chip truck. inside is flawless as is the inside of man box. No leaks on motor, trans, hyd. etc...... The only thing is that the windshield wiper res has a slow leak that does not bother me so it is not fixed. And i also have a 2004 vermeer 625a with about 190hrs that the autofeed sometimes works but i leave it unplugged all the time cause its much better that way. I need to sell this stuff cause im shuting down the show. what is a good asking price that i should put on these 2 items on the for sale forum
Thanks

Tell you what I would consider. Go to places like machinetrader.com and compare your equipment to like makes and models and go from there. Have you talked with vermeer about buying that unit from you? They might tell you what it is worth.

Also you might Google your truck and you might find similar models for sale to get an idea.

I think there are websites that can also give you feedback on what you have and what it is worth.

Good Luck.

If in good mechanical condition and free of major dents/rust, it's probably worth around $7k. That's based on what used asplundh chip trucks are going for (about $5k) without new paint. With new paint, the price goes up a couple grand. Price also depends on tires, auto or manual transmission, a/c, and any other options.

You're competing against a huge fleet of used asphlund chip trucks which go pretty cheap on auction if a person knows where to shop. Lots of guys buy them up cheap and then try to resell them for a profit. They list for anywhere between $5k to $15k in the tree and landscape trader.

your 625 chipper is probably worth around $5k - again, lots of them on the national market as they come out of rental fleets.

Your best bet with either is to advertise local/regionally and hope someone doesn't subscribe to the used tree equipment magazines or that he doesn't use the internet. You might get lucky and find someone who doesn't know that there are a lot of these to pick and choose from. Supply and demand drives the price of used equipment and asplundh sure keeps used equipment dealers in good supply of 10-year-old chip trucks.

Too bad you're not closer though or I'd take a look at your truck. I've been shopping for one but haven't been too aggressive about it.

$7000 for a chipper truck with only 7500 miles? If you're going to sell it for that I'm interested and not too far away.

stop by your local banker and have a chat with their loan officer.
They should be able to at least give you Book value for your truck.
Cab and chassis value.

I can help you out with that. I have a Machinery and Equipment Appraisal Company. PM me if interested. We also broker equipment. At the very least I can point you in the right direction.
