Just bought a very low hour BC1000 with the 3.3 Cummings engine. Everything I see on the web mentions the "XL" and I can find very little about the non-XL. Can anyone enlighten me? Also, maintenance tips would be appreciated, what to keep an eye on, etc. Thanks

"I Just Bought" Congradulations I would love that over my 1600 chunk and duck,
The bc1000 is the predisessor to the BC 1000xl it was rated as a 10inch chipper and the xl is rated as a 12 inch, thw drum shaft is a itragrated part of the drum so keep an ey on the bearings the later xl drums have rplaceable shafts, also the 1000 is lighter not sure why they were 4200lbs and the xl were 4600 the new ones have metal hoods and are just below 5k lbs here is the specs on the new ones,
