What is the advantage of a floating ring on a rope bridge on a saddle?

Is it better than just a biner or a pulley bushing on a rope bridge?

Just trying to understand some things before I spring for a new harness.

Leaning toward ergovation. I think I wish the rigging plates the rope bridge goes through were big enough for a rope snap like the treemotion is. Seems like that would be handy when alternating between rope and long lanyards while working upwards in a tree. Rather than always snapping lanyards into side D's.

But the tree motion side rings look small for use with two lanyards with rope snaps on working end.

I just thought of a small advantage to a ring on a rope saddle in specific cases: A simple way to have your biner/whatever at 90 degrees from where it would have been on the rope bridge only.

There are times when I would like that.....

I recently added a ring to my ''Edge'', saddle just for that reason. Before the orientation of the gri gri was wrong, now with the ring it sits nicely. Im thinking of adding another one.

Now that I am climbing with rings on bridge (borrowed TM and my old saddle) I can't imagine not having them.

Slide a bit better and give more choices. Bridge would seem weird without them now.

My borrowed TM has a swivel, haven't decided yet if that seems handy for me.
