What is your favorite helmet and why?
NRR? Facescreen easy to see through? Comfortable? Optional neckflap?

SRT-Tech said:i want a Pacific, but i'm pretty dang happy with my Petzl Vertex with Peltor Optime 35DBR ear muffs, and Peltor flip up mesh face sheild. I want a reg ol helmet for ground use, but the damn things dont stay on my noggin when i reach for a round or limb on the ground. The petzl stays put! (straps)

QOUTE: "The OPTIME line is devided by protection levels 95, 98, 101 and 105 dBA. All you have to do is match the OPTIME number to the assessed noise level of an individual's work area. For example, if an area's noise level can reach up to (without exceeding) 98 dBA, the right muff for a worker would be the OPTIME 98......in my case i decided to go with the 105
the version i have attaches directly to the helmet, and can be flipped to the side, or back up on the helmet.
I can wear them all day long running a modded saw, and go home with zero fatigue or hearing issues.
mine have a sticker stating 35 Db reduction, other muffs in the same series were only 33 DBR (?) . could be mine have a double insulating foam barrier.
SRT-Tech said:try the Optime 105's , they will make all other earmuffs seem weak by comparision.
B_Turner said:I absolutely believe it because basically they are my favorite muffs of all time (and I've tried alot of earmuffs) in a helmet version. Yahoo. Especially for those that like quiet and wear glasses, the thick foam is great both in terms of comfort and NRR. I buy the replacement foam kits to make them as good as new. The Peltor 10b is good for those that only want to run muffs under a helmet occasionally as their support band goes around the back of the neck.
I need to figure out what helmets will accept these, as I really prefer a helmet with a brim in front at least and I don't think the Petzl Vertex does. I think it is a climbing style helmet, no?
