To the trunk of car?

WHAT???

Good one.

It goes on your kids ears.

I once worked in a hardrock mine that was the noisiest place on (under earth). The older miners would not wear hearing protection because it wasn't considered macho enough. THey were all deaf as doorposts but they were kind of proud of it. Working men.

All their kids that worked in the mine 1) worked the night shift which was the party shift and 2) all work ear plugs.

What a difference a generation makes...(lyrical singing......)

Worse job I ever had. That would be a good thread...

I had a husky until I broke of the earmuff and then got a peltor . I like the peltor better and I love the flip up face sheild better on the peltor. Face sheild keeps all the prickly ash from tearing my face when I'm walking thru it and all the flying bark and sticks. My brother learned the hard way about flippen up the face sheild before spittin out your chew tho:dizzy: :dizzy: :dizzy:

Peltor with the muffs and screen.

Bought the stihl version for my dad last year for christmass, didnt care for the fancy (insert flimsey, fradgile, gonna be a PITA) mounts for the screen and muffs.

Another reason why I wanted to run the higher rated Peltors on a helmet is that I already buy replacement guts for the muffs. New inside and foam seal makes them like new for relative cheap. Often on any muff replacing the foam makes one realize how worn they were.

So I took a pair of the first attached pic and popped in on the second.

Cut with the new muff setup yesterday. Big improvement in comfort and quiet over both the stock Peltor muffs and even over the Elvex Pro setup. My new favorite helmet rig.

Had the 36 Cannon absolutely maxed out a lot and wasn't even thinking about the noise. Had a big (34+)madrone settle into the ground (still on rootball and way too big to move it) and toward the stump was doing the lazy man's "milling" where I would cut from the side the whole 36inch bar length (horizontal) and then crosscut out the piece and then repeat a touch higher. Leaves some wood and doesn't make boards or anything, but since I am pulling noodles on the side cut it goes 10 times faster than CSM. It's blocks I am after anyway.

The next mod I am considering is how to mount a headlamp on one of my helmets (like I used to use when I briefly worked in a mine). I was working well after dark last night (mostly moving and loading blocks) and realized that a headlamp would have been great. Did some cutting with a small flashlight held in my mouth, and didn't feel particularly good about it.
