Hey Dennis
When are the big shows out there that you go to.
What are the classes that you have and wood size.
Is everything one cut over the block or is there any cold start.
That Orrville show looks to be around 3100 miles from here.
I have friends in Reno so it could be fun as long as you promise not to spank me to bad .

ehp, shows start up in June and go on thru Oct. Not a lot of good chain saw class races left. There are a couple of contests in B.C. but still only a couple of chain saw classes per contest. The ALA has Morton in Aug. with a stock saw class, bring your own chain and single cylinder open hot saw. If Oroville happens again that would be fun for you. Very little cold start racing, nobody likes to race that way around here. Jim Taylor, Tom Fales, Dennis Harvey, and myself are set up to cold start race but not very many others are, or want too. I'll be watching for race dates this coming year and let you know when I get some information. Come on out Ed we'll have fun no matter who wins. Bring a chain for Rupedoggy Ed, then he'll be your competion, not me! Dennis

PS 5cu, 6cu, stock appearing, no pipes, In can-a-log you can run a pipe. Then Open chain saw, anything goes. Some of the small shows, no cut off heads.

We are suppose to be in B.C, in Sept.
N ow that they have changed there rules my saws are legal there. Out here we have 4 classes at most shows and most shows have 17 events.

Ed, just saw one of my saws run in the Timbersports series. It got 6th place. If a Canadian wasn't running it, it might of done a little better. hahaha Have 2 saws running in the series, Carl Bischoff, from B.C. and Justin Beckett from Aus. Harry, Matt, and Gaston are way fast, cutting in the 5's cold start, three cuts, 20" Whitepine. Who were you helping out this year? Might be going to the Great Outdoor Games this year in Wis. how far are you from Madison Wis. Had a great time in Reno this year. Pitted for Mike Sullivan and he won the hot saw for the second consecutive year. Good times had by all. Dennis

Hey
This year i am helping a young guy by the name of Cecil Star out.
He is a up and comer real fast . His chopping is real good and he is getting use to running a saw now , the last show he cut a low 5 in 12 inch wood cold start and it got away on him in the cold start so he has about 1 to 1.2 seconds to make up on his operating . But he will not be running a saw this year at the series , he will be running a LT250R motor on alcohol, it is just about done now and is real light , i will let you know the weight when i am done . It should be in the 39 to 43 pound class. Yes Mike is very good at running a bike and always runs well as far as going to the go games , with the new areas out here we have not much chance at going because i donot think we have anybody on the board that makes the choices for the people to go. Out here all there is worth going and it would be a role of the dice to see which one you would send are Gaston . Moyal. Paul.and maybe J.P.
As far as T.V. cameras and me , that is not going to happen so you will not see me much on T.V.
As far as what we are changing for next year on the rotax's is quite alot and we have been testing alot already in the cold and are .5 second ahead already with more to come . We will see how we fair in the new year with Bush because he is the most on them we see . See Harry in Webster but not to often .

ehp, I saw cecil cutting a standing block in the relay I think. The T-series is way tuff now a days. Whats the LT250R, a Suzuki bike motor? I'm running CR250 Honda motors, like Gaston. Do you go to Webster? Are you and Jerry Gindritch involved in anything? Show us the LT250 if you can, or when its done. Thanks Dennis

Yes is is a suzuki 4 wheeler motor
As far as Jerry , i am not sure if you mean Jerry Gingrass or not. I have never heard of the guy you are talking about. As far as Gingrass i have made him some chains , sold some carbs to him,and he bought a 272 from Cliff Hessel that i made 2 years ago. Cliff is a very good chain filer, he holds the 8 by 8 world record 3 cuts cold start in 2. 43 seconds , his boy Jay is also one of the best if not the best bow sawer in north amer. We were out playing with the bow saw and Bush was there , what it took him 13 stroke Jay could do in 7 strokes with the same saw.As far as Cecil goes he is a good chopper and getting better everyday but we will need the do some work on his hotsaw running . The good thing is he does listen and does what you tell him. Even last year he ended up 17 to 19 with the old 084 , never cut out so he made alot points , most of the guys gave him a hard time for running a saw but if you have never ran a mod saw never mind a bike saw i thought it would be dumb for him to run a bike saw when points are so important.Yes Carl was out here with the 250 last Sept. for the east canada against west canada

I would think i am going to Webster this year.It is the only show thati have not won that i would like to win. It is at a bad time for me here with everybody getting there new saw and the show Minden being 2 weeks after it which i supply all the wood for, last year it took 190 chopping blocks alone for that show then you have sawing wood and if you know are wood out here a good tree you will get 3 to 4 blocks out of it.I did the wood for 6 years now so i told them to get someone else this year so i guess Cecil is doing it , i will still most likely have to turn it which is not to bad, i can turn 150 blocks in 4 hours as long as i got 2 guys helping

ehp, sorry about the spelling of Gingrass, that is who I was talking about. I think he won Webster Springs last year, didn't he? That is the chain saw race!, not the chopping. I've never been there, but hope to go someday. That is the chainsaw race to win in the U.S.A. or anywhere for that matter. You win there and you've beaten the best! Now, about the LT250 are you weighing just the power head or are you weighing it with a bar and chain? The bar is always the dead weight for me to get rid of. Dennis

that will be with the bar
The power head is 26 pounds now complete
Yes webster is hard to win . my saws have won it but not me.
As far a as chainsaw race i believe and Jerry will tell you this to that Minden is 10 times harder to win because there will be 40 to 50 of the best saw guys from out here at that show. Gaston is the only french guy at webster and there is alot of good guys from there . Like last year Jerry never made it in any class so you know it is hard there

Ya about the bar
I have got one rotax that has on it a cannon bar i believe that has holes cut in to it then filled with jb or something like that
As far as the bar for the 250 r ,it will not be a wide bar because the saw will running a 17 tooth 404 gear so just over 4 inches in dia. because of the rpm this saw is going to turn and if you are going to Webster donot show up with any reed cages on your saw or you will be sent home . You have to run a chainsaw there and chainsaw parts so no mac's ,home made jugs and they check there

If you to have fun Dennis come up here and begin a truck load of saws . up here the choppers got 3 chops so we have 4 or more saw classes, it is only fair but all are coldstart 3 cuts

I feel the same way you do Dennis Webster is the toughest show to win

There will be a small GTG in Chico Cali at the end of Feb. Bring anything you got. Heads and alky will be allowed to run. Stay tuned. I called the guest room fisrt and Gypo gets the air mattress.

you beat me to it! are you going to be there this year bob? maybe our paths will cross.

I'm just going to look at all the new toys. But not sure what day I will be there - depends on if a couple of friends want to go too or not.
