Yep, one of those days that I should have stayed in bed! I was droping some trees today when my NEW PP372xpg got hung in the cut as a 12'' poplar was going over, well it squished my saw to pieces:cry:  The only thing not damaged was the bar the piston and cylinder and the air filter cover:( I'll try to post some pics later.

heck ryan thats a real bummer.. if u need it u welcome to use mine . for a little while.., hurt my back again today. how the heck u suppose to work if u gotta baby uself..let me know ryan

That is one think i never did but with the laws of averages i should of , call it bull sh#t luck because i donot care who you are when it's your turn it's going to happen, now my uncle seems to smash one or two a year, i have to say that is one thing with his stihl's , get the axe out and straighten the handle bar and away he goes
but i know when my turn comes i will be lucky if the bar nuts are any good just my lick

I talked to Dan and it looks like he has the parts I need to bring her back to life. Ya, it sucked big time and to add insult to injury, as I was pulling the hitch to the landing (including the tree that smashed my saw) the main line on my skidder broke:mad: Fortunetly it broke a foot from the end so I didn't lose hardly any line at all and was able to repare it.

Mike, I think we ALL get those days when we're the hydrant the dogs above are peeing on.

Don't ya hate when the impossible happens? Those things you couldn't do again no matter how hard you tried?
:D

I regret hearing about you bad day Ryan and it's good to hear only equipment was damaged.

So what caused the mishap? Was that pp372 cutting so fast that before you had time to react it was in a pickle?

Rick

In all honesty rick? I hate to admit it but operator error:eek: I was watching the back cut and not paying enough attention to the tip of my bar and I severed the hinge on the off side so all of the holding wood was on my side and the tree had side lean. I knew better but got in a little bit of a hurry and thought that I could get away with it. STUPID!!!! The tree started to twist off of the stump and I knew what was happening so I gave my saw a pull on the rear handle and it wouldn't budge so I knew it was stuck so I got out of there and left the saw to fend for it's self! It didn't fare to well! That should be a reminder to everyone, PAY CLOSE ATTENTION!!!! AND BE CAREFULL!!

ITS THE ONLY DANG THING ,I KNOW HOW TO USE..PROPERLY OR PERVERTED.:)
BYTHE WAY BRYAN AFTER WHAT U SAID.. IM GLAD THEY AINT SINGING FOR U SOMEWHERE TO NITE. JUST A SLIP OR HUNG SHOE BUT U KNOW THAT.. GOT TO BE THERE FOR THEM BABIES THO FELLA. I KNOW IM PREACHING TO THE QUIRE. SORRY ABOUT THE CAPS ,,NOT MY COMPUTER.. THIS THING GOT FUNTION BUTTONS THAT ANT EVEN PLACES ON MINE..OR SO IT SEEMS.

Ryan, I had one do just the opposite once and bent the bar tip over like a snow ski. You probably already know this one but one time I had a mishap and broke one side of the handlebar off. I thought the day was over but another cutter showed me how to cut and sharpen a vine maple stick and pound it into the tube where the other one broke off. It wasn't pretty but helped me finish the day out.

If logging was easy wouldn't women and children be doing it?
